New York Daily News Announces Partnership with the Adventures in Travel Expo
New York (PRWEB) November 17, 2006 -- The New York Daily News announced it is partnering with the Adventures in Travel Expo (ATE) naming it lead sponsor of the world's largest "active and adventure" travel show to be held at Pier 94 in Manhattan on January 13 and 14, 2007.
This is the fourth year of the exposition. And attendance by the public is expected to reach 20,000 to 25,000. Vendors in the active and adventure travel industry will demonstrate their latest information and products. Special demonstrations will include an aerial zip line, an adventure ropes course, winter kayaking demonstrations on the Hudson, and a Culinary Travel Pavilion sponsored by Bon Appetit magazine to gather destinations, resorts, tour operators, chefs and cookbook authors specializing in culinary adventures from around the globe. Adventure Engine and Liberty Travel will be there to book tours and vacations on sight as well.
As presenting sponsor, the New York Daily News will be the main print and online conduit for marketing the event through an extensive integrated advertising and promotion campaign. This will include a dedicated supplement being distributed within the newspaper's Travel section one week prior to the ATE show, and regular promotional ads in the New York Daily News leading up to the event. The newspaper will also have naming rights to the event's Global Beats Stage, an entertainment element of the event for attendees which has attracted musicians and dancers from all over the world including Puerto Rican folkloric dancers, steel drummers from Barbados and Mongolian throat singers.
"We see great potential in the active and adventure travel niche. Partnering with the Adventures in Travel Expo will allow us to increase our share of the fastest growing segment of the travel industry," said Catherine Scalera, Director of Consumer Marketing and Promotions for the New York Daily News. "The Adventures in Travel Expo has a reputation for staging high quality events which attract choice exhibitors and attendees. Adventures in Travel Expo is a natural fit as a partner. And we are committed to helping grow this event, and making it the place to be among our "avid travel" readers."
The New York Daily News' extensive experience in sponsoring events, and in online marketing campaigns and sweepstakes will drive additional attendance to the event. Both the New York Daily News and the ATE will offer discounted rates, and bundled packages designed to increase visibility and brand presence with their target audience.
New York Daily News readers attract and complement ATE's highly lucrative audience. These readers are "avid travelers" with spending power -- spending up to $4.4 billion on vacation. They show a passion for exploring and enjoying what the world has to offer. These readers spend up to $4,999 on their vacation and plan their next adventure within twelve months.
"We are delighted to have the New York Daily News as our presenting sponsor in the New York market," said John Golicz, CEO, Unicomm LLC, producer of the event. "The newspaper's readers not only match the demographic of our attendees but have the spending power and the inclination to plan their next active vacation within 12 months. Aligning ourselves with New York's #1 newspaper serves to further position our brand as the leading travel events company in the country," he continued.
